Biography:

José Miguel is a student of the Ph.D. in Spanish (Literature Track) at Penn State University. He earned a MA in Literature at Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. His MA thesis is about the relationship between landlords’ children and racialized subjects in Las memorias de Mamá Blanca, by Teresa de la Parra, and Balún-Canán, by Rosario Castellanos. In that way, he plans to continue researching on childhood, gender, sexuality, and race in 20th and 21st century Latin American and Spanish Literature.
