“My browser keeps displaying funny looking characters in ANGEL.”
Sometimes when you are typing characters in ANGEL, your web broswer will not recognize the character that you have put in. In cases such as these, we recommend that you clear your web browser’s cache and check that the encoding in your web broswer is configured correctly.
To clear your web browser's cache on a PC:
* Go to the Tools menu at the top of your web browser
* Go to Options
* Click on the Advanced tab along the top
* Select the Network tab
* Click on the Clear Now button beside the cache item (Offline storage)
* Click OK
* Go to the Tools menu at the top of your web browser
* Go to the Internet Options menu at the bottom
* Click on the General tab along the top
* In the Browsing History section, click Delete…
* A new window should open up. Inside it, check the box next to Temporary Internet Files (optionally check/uncheck the other boxes)
* Click Delete
* Click OK
To set your browser's encoding:
* Open up your Mozilla web browser
* Go to the View menu along the top of the browser window
* Point your mouse cursor on Character Encodingand select Western (ISO)
* Open Internet Explorer
* Go to the View menu along the top of the browser window
* Point your mouse cursor on Encoding and selectWestern European (ISO)
In addition you can also delete the temporary internet files or cookies and history in the Web browser that you use. To do this go into your browsers Internet Options or Preferences folder to locate these settings.
